36ers aim to rebound against arch rivals

Adelaide 36ers point guard Jason Cadee expects his side to bounce back from an opening NBL Blitz defeat on Tuesday night against Perth Wildcats.
The 36ers were shot down 101-75 by a red-hot New Zealand Breakers on Sunday afternoon and Cadee said Adelaide know what to improve on for the Wildcats battle.
“This league is too good when you turn the ball over and over again,” Cadee said.
“Especially when it leads to those situations when you give up easy scores.
“That told the whole story when the lead got pushed out.”
Adelaide had 24 turnovers in the loss to the Breakers and Cadee said the second quarter again was an issue for his side.
“The turnovers at the start of the second quarter was really the ball game,” Cadee said.
“It was tied at the quarter time and then we got down 10 points in the space of two minutes.
“Our group is still learning and we are trying to get used to each other, different plays and different personnel.
“It’s pre-season, we have got a lot to do and a lot to learn and a heap of work to do.”
Cadee was back on court at the Gold Coast Convention Centre where he started his NBL career at the Blaze.
“I really enjoyed being back in there, we sat in the same change room where we use to sit,” Cadee said. “It was really surreal being back in there.”
“We played in there for the Commonwealth Games, but it looked a lot different, Sunday was like the Blaze days all over again.
“There has been two great days of basketball and they have showed what I have said all along, it’s a totally different place than the one when the Blaze were around.”

The 186cm point guard said fans will see a different 36ers side on Tuesday night against the Wildcats.
“It’s hard for everyone to see, but this week is a big week for us to see how we slowly evolve,” Cadee said.
“The season is getting close and we need these next two games to figure out what works and what doesn’t work.
“Again, it’s all about limiting turnovers, being able to play at the pace we want to play at and control the game and let things unfold from there.
“At the end of the day it’s a pre-season game, it’s not all about the result, it’s about how we play and making strides.
“We need to find groups which can push out leads and gain leads and really get in the grind of a basketball game right now.”
