Australia has flexed its muscle to open the next 2023 FIBA World Cup qualification window, with a massive 54-point win against Bahrain.
The 20-hour flight didn’t hinder the Boomers, who put on a 104-50 clinic in Bahrain early Friday morning (SA time).
Adelaide 36ers captain Mitch McCarron didn’t have to do much for the green and gold, only playing 17 minutes to score six points and dish three assists.
The Boomers started strongly, their 27-10 first quarter burst was only the start of a long night for the hosts.

Kai Sotto threw down a spectacular dunk, but it wasn’t enough for the Philippines, who fell 85-81 to Lebanon in Beirut.
Sparked by the inclusion of NBA superstar Jordan Clarkson, the Philippines took the lead early but the home side was too strong down the stretch.
Sotto scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds, while Clarkson added a game-high 27 points.
Philippines now will have to regroup before their next battle against Saudi Arabia in Manila on Monday night.
