Adelaide 36ers import guard Ian Clark is ready to make his on-court debut in Thursday night’s home match against Brisbane Bullets at the Entertainment Centre.
The 2017 NBA champion said he has spent the past week in Adelaide adapting to his new surroundings and is primed to tackle the Bullets.
“Everything is going good, I’m finding my feet, getting acclimated to practice,” Clark said.
“It’s going good, yesterday (Tuesday) was my first full day.”
Clark is excited about his first impressions of his new side and what he can bring to the NBL23 campaign.
“Learning the schemes, learning the guys’ tendencies on the floor and what we want to do as a team,” Clark said.
“Just getting up to speed with everything.”
The NBL22 championship-winner spent Adelaide’s 94-88 Christmas Eve win against South East Melbourne in uniform but on the bench and he admitted to a bout of ‘itchy feet’.
“Yeah of course, I always want to compete,” Clark said.
“But I had to be smart and understand my body.
“These last two days of practice has been good for that.”
Brisbane will come to the Entertainment Centre with newfound confidence after their 97-93 overtime win against Perth Wildcats at home on Tuesday night.
But Clark takes the same mindset into every game, despite the opponent.
“I take every game the same, it doesn’t matter who the opponent is,” Clark said.
“We just need to concentrate on what coach wants us to do.”
The 190cm combo guard is pumped to play at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre and feel the support from the home fans.
“You want to play in front of your home crowd and you want them to be loud,” Clark said.
“I’m excited to see the turnout.”
