Adelaide 36ers star Sunday Dech said the crowd was ‘phenomenal’ as fans packed into the Adelaide Entertainment Centre for the Club’s season opener.
Speaking on FiveAA’s Rowey & Timmy G, Dech was delighted with the atmosphere on Thursday night, but disappointed with the loss to Tasmania.
"We feel quite embarrassed as players because we didn't play the brand of basketball that we know we're capable of," he said.
"We're going to do right by ourselves and play the right way (against Illawarra).”
Dech, who scored eight points and had four rebounds in the loss to the JackJumpers, is expecting a better performance against the Hawks.
"When we don't come to play, we get the result that we got," he said.
"We've put together a game plan ready for Illawarra.
"We have to lock in mentally and stay engaged for the 40 minutes.”
