The Adelaide 36ers are pleased to welcome back Montrezl Harrell for NBL26.
Harrell initially arrived as an injury replacement last September, but the club was able to retain the experienced big man until the end of the season and has now re-signed him for another campaign.
He fast became a fan favourite for his powerful play and engagement with supporters.
The 201cm power forward averaged 20.5 points per game along with 9.3 rebounds and two assists, going on to be named as part of the All-NBL Second Team.
36ers General Manager of Basketball, Matt Weston, was thrilled to welcome Harrell back.
“Montrezl is a unique piece in the NBL with his size, power and overall skillset,” said Weston.
“There’s nobody like him in this competition and we saw it first-hand last season, he’s hard to stop.”
At 31, Harrell boasts nearly 550 games in the NBA and was named the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year for the 2019-2020 season while playing for the LA Clippers.
Harrell joins recently signed import Bryce Cotton on the 36ers roster alongside DJ Vasiljevic, Isaac Humphries, Keanu Rasmussen, Ben Griscti, Isaac White, Michael Harris, Flynn Cameron and Matt Kenyon.
“We’ve really reworked our roster but Trez fits because of his unique skillset,” said 36ers Head Coach Mike Wells.
“His basketball IQ will allow us to play different ways.
"The player combinations with him involved will be difficult for teams to handle.
“Trez loved being part of the NBL and we’re excited to see what he can do and what we can achieve in NBL26.”
The 36ers now have one remaining roster spot to fill.
