How Boomers star Giddey silences "outside noise"

After spending the past two seasons learning to deal with the expectations, eyes and the noise of being one of the most exciting players in the NBA, Oklahoma City star and former Adelaide 36ers point guard Josh Giddey is now dealing with the pressure of being heralded as the present and future of Australian basketball.
Everything Giddey does – on and off the court – is assessed under the microscope reserved for only the most highly touted NBA talents, but with father and former Melbourne star Warrick in his corner, the junior Giddey knows how to not get carried away.
“There’s always a lot of outside noise, and being an NBA player comes with a lot of eyes on you and a lot of media attention,” Giddey told Code Sports.

“It’s easy to get caught up in where I’m at now, but I understand the little things that go on throughout a career are just a little blip on the radar.
“I’m not getting too caught up in what’s happening now. More just trying to stack good days together and build for the future, whether that’s with the Boomers or in the NBA.”
Giddey is set to line up for the Australian Boomers during the upcoming FIBA World Cup, which tips off on Friday night, live on ESPN from 5.30pm.
