Adelaide 36ers club legend Daniel Johnson was humbled after his no.21 jersey was retired by the club on Monday night.
Johnson, along with wife Daniela and their children Cole and Judd, received a standing ovation from the 9475-strong crowd as they were introduced pre-game at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.
“It was a special moment, sharing it with my wife and family was pretty amazing,” Johnson said.
“I’m super grateful for the club for putting the night on for me.”

The 212cm centre, who is a seven-time Mark Davis Trophy winner as club MVP, said the special moment in the centre of the court will be a lifelong memory.
“I was trying to explain it to him, he didn’t really know what was going on, but in a couple of years it will be nice to come to a game and have it hanging up there,” Johnson said.
A three-time All-NBL First Team member, Johnson played 366 of his 417 NBL games at the 36ers across a 13-year career at the club.
“I’ve spent a big chunk of my life here and I have so many great memories, met some great people, so just to be remembered and put a nice ending on it is something pretty special,” Johnson said.
“It’s great to see, the fans do a great job turning out and bringing the energy and hopefully the guys can end the season on a high.”
