Schools sign up for High-Performance Program

Adelaide 36ers are proud to announce to launch of the club’s High-Performance Program to be based in three South Australian schools throughout 2023.

Woodville High School, Rostrevor College and Sacred Heart College have joined the unique basketball program, exclusive to just three schools in the state.

Adelaide 36ers GM of Social Impact & Community Ross Wait said the High-Performance Program is an outstanding opportunity for the three schools to get a professional sporting club linked with their learning outcomes.

“The High-Performance Program is a great tool for the schools involved to connect with the club and use our skills and connections to improve their basketball and education programs,” Mr Wait said.

The club will provide the three schools and participants exclusive access to coaches, training sessions, coach education, leadership engagements, match day experiences and clinics.

Sacred Heart principal Daniel Lynch said the college is thrilled to be partnering with the Adelaide 36ers for the next three years.

“We look forward to our students, both on and off the court, benefiting from the expertise, experience and wisdom of 36ers players and staff,” Mr Lynch said.

Woodville High School principal Anna Mirasgentis is excited about the partnership as one of the three exclusive schools.

“This is an amazing opportunity for all our students, particularly where some may not have the ability to join district clubs and other associations,” Ms Mirasgentis said.

Rostrevor College principal Shana Bennett said the College was thrilled to partner with the Adelaide 36ers with the recent growth in basketball.

“The program will complement the strong focus we have on providing opportunities for students of all ages and abilities to enjoy the sport and develop skills,” Ms Bennett said.

Wait said the Adelaide 36ers High Performance Program is an addition to Pultney Grammar School signing as the club’s Official High Performance Academy partner earlier this year.

“The club partnered with Pulteney Grammar at the start of this year to be an Academy School for the next generation, this High-Performance Program is another project the club is excited about,” Mr Wait said.

The High-Performance Program commenced at the start of term two and Wait said the schools have options on how they use the specialist basketball coaching program.

“We will work with the schools to support their High-Performance Program, which could range from our coaches leading their teams to mentoring the school’s basketball coaches,” Wait said.
