Adelaide 36ers were on the road and in the classroom last month as the club commenced the new Regional Community Program.
The club, in partnership with BHP, conducted the first Active Adelaide and Basketball sessions in Roxby Downs.
Community & Partnerships manage Will van den Berg said the first Roxby Downs visit was an enormous success.
“This marks the beginning of a series of four visits to the Roxby Downs community by the club,” van den Berg said.

van den Berg conducted the two-day visit along with Schools High Performance Manager Corey Maclean and Operations Co-ordinator Micheal Kfoury with students from Roxby Downs Area School and St Barbara’s Parish School.
Students were provided classroom and on-court activities and took part in interactive healthy lifestyle education and learned how to promote their well-being before participating in on-court activities led by the 36ers community coaches.
“We look forward to returning in term four, where we will have some players making the trip, which will be a huge thrill for the students,” van den Berg said.
The Regional Community Program goes until term two in 2025, with BHP also supporting five schools in rural and remote communities to participate in the club’s XVenture Schools Program.
