Sotto has bright future: Giddey

FORMER Adelaide 36ers star Josh Giddey heaped praise on young centre Kai Sotto ahead as he prepares to face his former team in the NBLxNBA pre-season game in October.
The Oklahoma City Thunder point guard said he thought the 218cm tall Sotto has a significant future in the game.
“Kai’s a very fun player to watch,” Giddey told adelaide36ers.com this week.
“There’s a lot of upside for where he can get to in the future.”

Sotto averaged 7.5 points and 4.5 rebounds from his 23 games last season, and Giddey said he liked what he saw from the 20-year-old in season 2021-22.
“He’s a young kid, but for a guy that big, he moves well and he’s a smart player,” Giddey said.
“What I got to see of him last year I was really impressed.”
Sotto was set to go head-to-head with the second overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, Chet Holmgren, until he was ruled out for the season with a foot injury.
