Adelaide 36ers are honoured to announce the support of local runner Asa Cowell in his 50in50 campaign for Catherine House.
Ultra marathon runner Cowell is completing 50 marathons in 50 days to raise money and awareness for Catherine House.
Cowell, who started his first marathon on November 23, said he wanted to do something to celebrate his 50th birthday. Asa has just finished his 20th marathon in Ballarat, having completed a distance of 852km over the past 20 days, he has raised over $32,000 to date and we ask the 36ers family to support Asa if you are in a position to do so.
“Having become aware of the devastating impact generational domestic violence had on a fellow running friend, I grew to understand the lasting impact it can have,” Cowell said.

“I’m determined to use this challenge to raise awareness and funds for Catherine House, so they can continue their vital work to support Women experiencing homelessness through Domestic and Sexual violence impacts.”
Adelaide 36ers executive chairman Grant Kelley said the club was more than happy to support Cowell for this great cause.
“What Asa is doing is not only an outstanding physical feat, but shows incredible commitment to our community, by championing such a wonderful cause,” Kelley said.
The club will give $5 for every kilometre run by Cowell across the 50in50 campaign, donating $10,550 to Catherine House.
Catherine House offers crisis, longer term accommodation and support services for women over the age of 18, unaccompanied by children and service the whole of South Australia and are the only dedicated women’s homelessness service in the state.
Cowell, has been CEO of Holdfast Assets, which is owned by the Kelley family, since 2017.
“I have literally been on a schedule of eat, run, eat, work, eat, sleep, repeat,” Cowell said.
“I work Monday to Thursday and use Friday as a recovery day after my run that day.”
