Adelaide 36ers secure the signature of Robert Franks

The Adelaide 36ers today announce the signing of power forward Robert Franks on a two-year deal.

The 25-year-old, 201cm, versatile forward signs with the Sixers after an impressive season with the Bullets where he averaged 18.9 points, 1.59 assists, 8.93 rebounds, and connected 50% of his field goals across NBL22.

Franks grew up in Vancouver Washington and had an exceptional college career at Washington State. He was named in the All Pac 12 First Team during his senior year after averaging 21.6 points and 7.2 rebounds per game.

He signed with NBA club Orlando Magic in November of 2020. During this time Franks was an integral part of Orlando Magic’s G-League affiliate the Lakeland Magic’s championship team, and averaged 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 1 assist while shooting at an efficient 58% from the field across their three playoff matches.

“We witnessed first-hand Robert’s talent last season, and we are thrilled to have him join our Club”, Barbato said.

36ers Head Coach CJ Bruton believes Franks ticks all the boxes and is pleased to have him on board for the next two seasons.  

“Robert is the type of player our team needs. He will bring a unique skillset and versatility, which is something we’ve been looking to add to our roster. We are very excited to have Robert on board, and after speaking to him recently, he’s ready to get down to Adelaide and take the next step with this Club”, said Bruton.  

Robert Franks joins Mitch McCarron, Daniel Johnson, Sunday Dech, Kai Sotto, Hyrum Harris, Nick Marshall, Anthony Drmic, Kyrin Galloway, and Antonius Cleveland on the 36ers roster for the 2022-23 season, with further basketball department and player announcements to come.
