Over 400 guests filled the William Magarey Room at Adelaide Oval on Friday for the annual Sixers In Business major luncheon.
Guests from across Australia joined together to hear from guest speaker Jack Cowin, founder and executive chairman of Competitive Foods Australia.
Adelaide 36ers Executive Chairman Grant Kelley was thrilled with another highly successful event.
“We are honoured to have such an individual like Jack Cowin to join us and he brings decades of business knowledge,” Kelley said.
Cowin spoke to the guests around his journey on coming to Australia from Canada in 1969 to open 10 KFC franchises in Western Australia.
Competitive Foods Australia now owns over 440 Hungry Jack’s franchises across the country after the company sold its 44 KFC franchises in 2013.
Former 36ers legends Ken Cole, Brett Maher, Mike McKay, Phil Smyth and Peter Ali also chatted about their experiences in the green and gold.
Cole explained about how his 1964 Boomers team paved the way for how Australian basketball was played, while Ali, Maher, Smyth and McKay all gave anecdotes from their Olympic experiences.
New GM of Basketball Operations Matt Weston and head coach Scott Ninnis were also interviewed and gave the crowd an NBL25 free agency update.
