Adelaide 36ers will tip off their NBL24 pre-season campaign on Friday night against South East Melbourne Phoenix in Mount Gambier.
The 36ers will unveil a new-look line-up against a Phoenix side coached by Mike Kelly for the first time, at Wulanda Recreation Centre.
Swingman Nick Marshall will be a fan favourite after spending the past three NBL1 South seasons at the Mount Gambier Pioneers and said the sold out crowd will be cheering on the 36ers.
“It’s going to be so cool to play on my home court in these colours,” Marshall said.
Adelaide head coach CJ Bruton has some new roster pieces to throw around the whiteboard and he said the focus for Friday night’s match is “all about us”.
“We want to get ourselves right and look at what we have been putting in place during pre-season,” Bruton said.
“We have scrimmaged against each other for so long now, it’s going to be a new test for us to put that in play against a hungry opponent.”
South East Melbourne have already started their NBL24 pre-season campaign, an 87-62 success against NCAA outfit California Baptist Lancers.
In that win, returning Phoenix import point guard Gary Browne had 17 points and seven assists, while big man Anzac Rissetto added 13 points and Rhys Vague paired 12 points with six rebounds.

New Adelaide 36ers import swingman Trey Kell, who played in NBL23 at the Phoenix, is also looking forward to playing, his debut in new colours.
“I’m not too worried it’s against Phoenix, the biggest thing is it’s the first game for us and the first opportunity to play against someone different, that’s always nice at this time of year,” Kell said.
