NBL26 was a record-breaking season for the Adelaide 36ers with new markers achieved by several individuals.
The Sixers won 23 regular season games and four in the post-season to equal the club’s best ever wins tally in a single season - the 27 wins recorded by the 1986 ‘Invincibles’ Championship side.
And there were a lot of other records worth noting across the season, none greater than Bryce Cotton becoming the first person to record 1000 points and 300 assists in a single season, as well as setting a new standard for points scored in a single season.
His 1037 points for the season – which doesn’t include the 34 points he scored in the final of the Ignite Cup – ranks eighth for the most points in a single season. Andrew Gaze’s 1089 in 1996 is the most by any player and he played nearly two hours more that season than Cotton did in NBL26.
Cotton became just the fourth player to reach 1000 points in a single season (Gaze did it seven times) and the first to get to that milestone in the NBL’s modern 40-minute era.

Cotton’s 305 assists for the season makes him only the second player in NBL history to break the 300-assist mark in a single season, though Darryl McDonald reached that mark three times prior to the modern 40-minute era including hitting a record 355 dimes in 1995.
And to add one more piece of history, Cotton’s 35 points in Game 5 of the Championship series was the most by any player, surpassing the 32 points scored by Jordon Crawford for the Tasmania JackJumpers in 2024.
Here are some of the other key achievements by 36ers players worth celebrating from NBL26.
