Bryce Cotton will lead the Adelaide 36ers into the Hungry Jack’s NBL27 season after the six-time NBL MVP was voted in by his teammates to captain the side.
Cotton arrived in Adelaide ahead of last season and his leadership was immediately recognised with his selection as one of three captains for NBL26.
The recently naturalised Australian made his long-awaited debut for the Boomers in July, soon after winning his sixth NBL MVP, ninth NBL Scoring Champion award and being selected in the All-NBL First Team for the ninth time.

Head Coach Trevor Gleeson congratulated Cotton, along with Isaac Humphries and Zylan Cheatham who each received a lot of votes but reminded the playing group that they all had a responsibility to lead.
“Everyonehas a voice, it’s not just up to (Bryce, Isaac and Zylan),” Gleeson said to his players when the captaincy was announced.
“Help each other out and be good leaders, all of us.
"We can lead by example and when we’re not, let’s hold each other accountable.”
The Adelaide 36ers will tip off the Hungry Jack’s NBL27 Season away against Melbourne United on Saturday, 19 September.
The club’s first home game is on September 27 against the Cairns Taipans, with limited tickets still available.
