Adelaide 36ers fan Parker Foot has successfully completed his ‘Dribble Challenge’ to raise money for The Hospital Research Foundation Group at GameReady Performance Gym on Monday.
Parker was joined by Murray Magpie, Captain Cure, the entire 36ers roster and some Port Adelaide AFL players during his six-hour effort.
“I dribbled up and down the court for 15 minutes on, 15 minutes off for six hours to raise money,” Parker said on Monday.
“I always wanted to raise money for a charity and I wanted it to be basketball related as basketball is my favourite sport.”
Parker’s favourite player, Adelaide 36ers captain Mitch McCarron, was first to join the 11-year-old on the court at GameReady Performance Gym.
“It’s awesome to be involved and to reach the donation mark already is great,” McCarron said.
“He has some pace and did some sprints at the end of the end of each stint.
“He looks good, I’m so happy for him, he’s having a bunch of fun.”
McCarron said the Dribbling Challenge brought life into perspective as the club continue the push for a playoff berth.
“We are trying to win games, but our job is to make the next generation better,” McCarron said.
“We want all the young kids looking up to us.
“They (The Hospital Research Foundation Group) do an incredible work and we want to help spread their message.”
Parker said it was ‘awesome’ to have McCarron and the 36ers players at his Dribbling Challenge.
“It’s really cool, I love it,” Parker said.
“He (McCarron) said good luck and he’s here supporting me.”
