Cadee scores 52 points in big Rollers win

Adelaide 36ers NBL24 signing Jason Cadee continued his hot NBL1 form with a masterclass last Friday night on the Gold Coast.

Cadee scored a game-high 52 points as the Rollers came from four points down at three quarter time to defeat Darwin Salties 110-93 at Carrara Stadium.

The 186cm point guard scored 16 of his 52 points in the final 10 minutes as the Rollers outscored the Salties 36-15 in the last stanza to record their 12th win of the NBL1 North season.

Cadee said it’s the fourth time he has scored 50 or more points at the NBL1/ABA level throughout his career.

His running three-pointer, one of nine on the night, at the end of the third quarter gave the Rollers some much-needed momentum going into the final quarter.

Cadee coupled his 52 points with a game-high 13 assists as the Rollers cemented second place on the NBL1 North standings with a 12-2 win-loss record ahead of this weekend’s bye.

Ipswich Force had a successful 2-0 road trip on the weekend, with Kyrin Galloway back to his best.

Galloway scored 12 points, grabbed five rebounds and dished three assists as the Force used a third quarter avalanche to defeat Rockhampton Rockets 100-85 in Rockhampton on Friday night.

The Force had to go to overtime on Saturday night before finally prevailing 119-114 against the Meteors in Mackay.

In Mackay, Galloway added 21 points and seven rebounds as the Force responded in the extra five minutes after the Meteors stormed back into the contest with a 55-36 second half to force overtime.

The Force, who now sit comfortably in the top three of the NBL1 North standings with a 10-3 record, are back at home this Sunday afternoon for a battle against Cairns Marlins from 3pm.

Nick Marshall missed a third straight game with an ankle injury, but Mount Gambier Pioneers extended their winning streak to two with a tough 91-77 success against Diamond Valley Eagles on their home court at Wulanda Recreation Centre.

Marshall looks set to return to the Pioneers line-up after this weekend’s double-header, where Mount Gambier face Ringwood Hawks on Saturday night, then a battle against the Miners in Ballarat on Sunday afternoon.

The Pioneers will look to climb back up the ladder and improve on their current 6th place, with an 8-5 record.
